Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account: your name, email address, phone number and password (stored as a one-way hash, never in plain text), plus the account ID that identifies you in our system.
• Address and approximate location: the district you choose for your ads, requests or shop, your shop's address, and the delivery name, phone and address you type when ordering. If you tap “Use my location”, your phone's position is used once, on your device, to pick the nearest district. We do not store it.
• What you post (user-generated content): ads, product listings, product requests, reviews, shop details, and the photos and videos you upload with them.
• In-app messages: the chats you have with buyers, sellers and shops through MotoBajar.
• Purchase history: the order requests you place with shops (items, amounts, status) and the platform fees you pay us (purpose, amount and bKash transaction ID).
• App interactions and search history: which listings you open, when you tap call, WhatsApp or share, the searches you run and the searches you choose to save, so results stay relevant and we can see which features help riders.
• Shop verification documents (trade licence, NID/TIN) if you submit them, stored privately, visible only to you and our review team.
• Device and notifications: a push device token when you allow notifications in the app, and a random visitor or install ID so that a view of an ad is counted once, not on every refresh.

How we use it

• To run the marketplace: showing your ads to buyers, delivering order requests to shops, and connecting buyers and sellers by phone, WhatsApp or chat.
• Your phone number appears on your ads and requests because that is how buyers reach you. That is the product working as intended.
• To keep the marketplace safe: checking new ads for scam patterns, acting on reports and blocks, limiting abuse, and confirming the platform fees you pay.
• To tell you what matters: notifications about your ads, orders, messages and requests, in the app, by push, and by email for account matters such as a password reset.
• We never sell your personal data to anyone.

Sharing and security

• Public content (ads, shop pages, reviews, open requests) is visible to visitors by design. Everything else stays private.
• We do not share or sell your personal data with third parties for their own use. The only companies that handle it are the providers that run our servers and database, and Expo's push service (with Google and Apple behind it), which sees only your device token and the text of each notification, all of them process data solely on our behalf.
• All traffic between your phone or browser and MotoBajar is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Verification documents are stored outside the public web folder and served only to you and our review team.

Cookies

• We use a small number of first-party cookies on the website: a session cookie that keeps you logged in (30 days), a language cookie that remembers English or Bangla, a referral cookie that records which link or Facebook group brought you here (30 days), and a random visitor ID that counts a view once.
• We also use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel to count visits and see which posts and groups bring people here. They set their own cookies. An ad blocker stops them and the site works the same. The app uses a login token and a stable install ID instead of cookies.

How long we keep it

• Your account data, content and messages are kept for as long as your account exists. Ads expire automatically after 60 days and stay in your account until you renew or delete them.
• Login sessions expire after 30 days. Usage events (views, searches, taps) are kept as statistics; they carry no name or phone number.
• When you delete your account, everything is removed at once (see below). Only the order lines you placed with shops remain, for the shop's own records, with your name, phone and address erased.

Children

• MotoBajar is not for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and all its data at any time from the account deletion page. Deletion is permanent: your ads, messages, favourites, requests, saved searches, notifications, payments, push tokens and shop are removed, and the photo and video files you uploaded are deleted from our servers.
